Northern California Public Media

News director of KRCB radio and KRCB and KPJK television. Produce Living Downstream: The Environmental Justice Podcast. Hire, mentor and edit reporters and interns. Lead audience engagement efforts with local Latinx community. Created and supervised award-winning collaborative projects, including "Will Annexation Improve Roseland Health?" and "A Letter from Santa Rosa to Paradise."

KCPT - Kansas City PBS

Created and led CPB-sponsored project Beyond Belief, a multimedia exploration of faith and religion in Kansas City. During the project, we produced a half hour television documentary, audio features, dozens of YouTube videos and digital stories, and several television specials based on community events. We collaborated with local faith groups to bring them together with our journalism across boundaries and borders of faith.

Mensch Media

Principal of this small media company. Create and manage teams to produce video, audio and web materials for clients including the Library of Congress.

AARP

Led groups that created compelling visual and audio content:

  • Co-produced and co-wrote the award-winning public radio documentary Picking Up the Pieces and developed a multimedia site devoted to Iraq and Afghanistan vets with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and their families.

  • Commissioned and co-executive produced the multimedia Hungry in America project with Magnum Photo/Interactive and Homelands Productions that supported a program supplying millions of meals to seniors.

  • Created and curated Tumblr “memory bank” about JFK assassination

NPR and Annenberg Public Policy Center, Univ. of Penn.

Wrote, produced, booked guests for nationally distributed radio series Justice Talking, hosted by NPR's Margot Adler, which dealt with issues in the law — from abortion, to medical marijuana, to the legality of the war in Iraq.

OVATION - The Arts Network

Created and guided the multimedia website ArtsZone. Wrote and produced video documentary The Codex Comes Home: Leonard Lives in Seattle about a Leonardo da Vinci notebook bought by Bill Gates.

National Public Radio

Working with a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, led team writing, editing, and producing news, commentaries and criticism about the arts for national broadcast on Performance Today, a daily network radio program.

Carnegie Hall Tonight

Wrote, produced, mixed classical music programs based on Carnegie Hall concerts. Wrote and produced feature stories about Carnegie Hall’s rich history, and directed host John Rubinstein.
